CONFORMITY/REBELLION: ALIKA COOPER

We will reference the art making of Alika Cooper for our Rebellion/Conformity project.
Please familiarize yourself with her imagery, her process, and her materials.


Art/Visual Components

  • Students will work in groups to create tapestry and quilt-like pieces that explore all aspects of Rebellion/Conformity.
  • Student's will reference propaganda art and posters as a jump off point, incorporating a wide variety of design aesthetics and practices into the final pieces.
  • Students will work with fabric only.
  • We will reference Alika Cooper's figurative fabric collages as a model for our practice.
  • Skills covered: drawing, Adobe CS (Photoshop and Illustrator), pattern making, sewing, installation, color theory, scale, etc.
